WHAT IS THE STREET TEAM’S GOAL?
The ultimate goal of the Street Team is World Domination. We need to introduce the artist to as many potential fans as possible, and to continue to build name recognition by encouraging people to visit their website, message board, go see them at a live show, and/or buy their CD.

WHERE DO I SIGN UP?
You can up at http://www.streetpropaganda.net. Once you make a profile and join your favorite artists’ street team, you are ON the street team for online and offline!

DOES IT COST YOU ANYTHING TO BE ON THE STREET TEAM?
Nope.

DO YOU GET PAID TO BE ON A STREET TEAM?
Nope, it’s all for the love of the band and making new friends.

WILL I MEET THE BAND IF IM ON THE STREET TEAM?
When there are times whenever possible, we would set up exclusive events for the members to meet artists, attend sound checks, or assist with special promotions.

WHAT DOES A STREET TEAM LEADER DO AND HOW DO I BECOME ONE?
A street team (market) leader is in charge of overseeing his/her major market (city). When “missions” are assigned, street teamers can go to the market leader for any questions, concerns, help or ideas they might have. Also, if there is an event or show in his/her market, that person will be there to help run it and make sure everything goes smoothly, whether it be by gathering email addresses for the mailing list or making sure the meet and greet is organized, telling new comers about the street team, helping out at in-store events, etc. Also as the role of a leader, he/she should also come up with fun and exciting promotional ideas to help spread the word in their area.
For an application, please email Rae @ rae@streetpropaganda.net

WHAT IS SHOW COVERAGE?
Depending on the show and its artist, show coverage is promoting the artist at the venue. On most occasions, a teamer will receive a pair of tickets to attend the show in exchange to “work” it.

For Tour Coverage, this may include the following: heading to the venue an hour before doors open to hang up posters in and around the venue; passing out materials after the show; assisting on special events if available, etc. You will be promoting the artist at their show and make sure the awareness of the artist is visually everywhere in the area. We encourage and prefer teamers who sign up for tour coverage to also cover lifestyle to promote the show. (For more info, see below under “What is Lifestyle?”)

For Target Tour Coverage, we purchase a pair of tickets for the show of your choice (only for the artists listed in our Friday’s emails) of the tours we are hitting up. You will be passing out promo materials at these shows that are not under Atlantic Records.

WHAT IS LIFESTYLE?
Where are some good places to give away stickers and postcards and hang up posters? Since YOU know your hometown better than anyone else, give materials away at places where people just like yourself hang out. This is called Lifestyle.

*If you know some local stores who would like to receive some materials to display at their shops please email Brandon@streetpropaganda.net with the following information: Name of store; type of store; address; city, state, zip code; phone number; and your relationship with the place.

*NOTE – Materials are sent out randomly to various street teamers or when they are available. Even if you request them, don’t expect to automatically receive them.

There are flyers on streetpropaganda.net media section where you can print out the flyers and make copies to pass out.

A) Here’s a list of places that are great for handing out promo stuff or hanging up posters: -After concerts, shows, outside clubs, arenas, etc. -Colleges (Bookstores, Dormitories, Student Union Buildings, Radio & TV Stations, Cafeterias) -High Schools (Homeroom, Cafeteria, Bulletin Boards) -Independent Shops (Record Stores, Book Stores, Teen Clothing Stores, Hair & Nail salons, coffee shops) -Arcades, Amusements Parks, Camps, Boardwalks. -Movie Screenings, Street Fairs, Fundraisings, Outdoors events, Sport Games -Hang Flyers and Posters on Telephone Poles, Bulletin Boards, Message Boards, Lockers, etc. **Some stores or venues may have rules against handing out materials on their property. Plus, it is against the law to affix stickers or posters to public or private property. So please sure you speak to the appropriate authorities before hand.

B) Tell all of your friends, coworkers, and relatives about the artist, their album, their shows, their website, etc.

C) Call and/or go into your local record stores and ask for the artist’s CDs. With enough demand, retailers will carry them. Have your family, friends and coworkers call, too!

D) Buy the artist’s CDs for friends and family. They make great gifts!

E) Bring friends and family to the band’s shows when they are in your area! Also, hand out flyers for upcoming shows in your area or close to your area!

F) Wear your band’s shirts proudly!

WHAT IS ONLINE STREET TEAMING?
If materials are not available, members can also go online and reach a bigger fan base worldwide just by the click of their mouse!

A) Post on other message boards and/or chat rooms about the band and include their URL for easy access to those interested. You can visit official message boards or fan-made ones especially hitting up artists’ forums they previously tour with.

B) Contact local newspapers, TV Show, and magazines and ask them if they could an article on one of the artists. This often works best if more than one person calls the press about the same subject.

C) Contact national music magazines, online fan magazines, morning shows, late night shows, talk shows, etc.

D) Post up their music video on your myspace.com, friendster.com, xanga.com, livejournal.com, etc.

E) Create fan newsletters, unofficial fan clubs, fan sites, yahoo groups, etc.

I HAVE AN IDEA THAT IS NOT ON HERE? WHO DO I TELL?
Any idea is an awesome idea and is always another great way to promote a band. Send any ideas not listed on here to anna@streetpropaganda.net

WHAT DO I DO AFTER I HAVE STREET TEAMED?
As a Street Team member, you’ve got to tell us what you’re doing to promote the band! Tell us what you’ve done, where you’ve done it, whom you’ve met, and what they thought. You can upload your street team pictures or screenshots of your online activities at streetpropaganda.net. You can also include stories of how you’ve been spreading the word by emailing your street team leader or writing a blog on the site to share with the rest of the fans.
